Social and Emotional Learning Through an Interdependent Learning Lens
Conference Workshop
In this sequential, two-part workshop (45 minutes each in sequence), you will explore how to build student-led systems which maximize their agency and self-direction; expand your repertoire of strategies to support student and adult self-awareness and management, relationship building and social learning, and decision-making skills and reframe conflict as positive energy to support diversity of ideas and innovation.
In addition, you will expand your repertoire of intentional community and school culture building in support of this holistic approach to learning. All administrators, teacher leaders, classroom teachers and board members are invited to attend.
The outcomes of this two-part workshop experience are to:
- Develop strategies to foster strong relationships, psychological safety and an inclusive school culture and community in every classroom.
- Build student agency, self-direction, and reflective practice based on student-led systems
- Reframe conflict as an opportunity for diverse perspectives in a respectful environment enhancing innovation and expanded trust.
- Analyze the components of the CASEL Model as a way to build self-awareness, self-management, relationship building, social awareness and decision-making structures 5.Integrate the role of advisory and pastoral programming within a holistic academic experience
