Why are Google, Coke and other large companies changing the designs of their offices to look like coffee shops? Research shows that creativity, collaboration and innovation are better supported by these designs, and in the 21st century we want to promote these attributes in our world. This workshop will explore what research says about the impact classroom design and environment has on students' learning and how to promote 21st century skills by developing the "third teacher". Educators will learn how to enhance the classroom environment with practical tips that can be used right away to strengthen teaching and learning.
